Teddy

Teddy came in to our care from the local dog pound, not much is known about his history, but he is a very scared little man. When we went to collect him from the pound he would sit at the back of his kennel, growling and snapping out of fear. Once we managed to get a lead looped around his neck we were able to get him out to the car. He jumped in to the crate with no issues so he has obviously been a pet at some point, but when we got him home we were not able to get him out of the crate as he was once again lunging and snapping. So we set up a safe area in the house and left the crate door open so he could come out when he was ready.

Over the next few days he spent most of his time out of the crate so we took it away and replaced it with a nice new bed. It took a week but he slowly gained our trust and now months later he is our best friend. He loves playing in the field with the other dogs, he adores cuddles and tasty food.

At the moment Teddy is not able to be rehomed, each time some one new comes to the house he panics and will revert back to growling, snapping and shaking in the corner. For this reason he is safe with us, he feels safe with us and we would not want to risk his life rehoming him as he would bite if his warning were ignored. He is not a bad dog, there is no such thing. But he is a very scared boy when it comes to new people and situations.

What does a sponsor mean to Teddy?

A sponsor means extra support financially for the care of longterm dogs such as Teddy. It allows us to provide him with good dry food and keep him up to date with grooming. It would allow us to continue to cover all his vet costs and supplements throughout his life with us. With sponsorships it also means we have extra cash available for each of the sponsor dogs and can provide them with lots of new toys, treats and anything else we can to make their lives happier.

Lastly, it goes towards any costs for doggy day trips, which allows us to take the longterm sponsor dogs out in to public places or private field hire for a change of scenery and to help with enrichment.

If you would like to sponsor Teddy, please click on the donate button below. Sponsorship is £50 for the year and you will get a certificate of sponsorship. Teddy cannot be visited in person at this time as will cause him to much fear and stress. Make sure to include your email or postal address so we can get your certificate to you.
