Zeus

Zeus came in to rescue at the beginning of 2015, sadly he came in from a place of neglect and his entire litter were dying of parvo and poor nutrition. They all fought so hard in the vets on 24hr care, but sadly three of his siblings passed away. It was a very long recovery for Zeus as his body was so frail and weak, he had to be isolated until his immune system was stronger. When he was introduced to other animals and people at first all seemed to be going well. However as he grew in strength and health he started to respond in an aggressive manner towards new dogs and then new people, primarily men. Despite behavioural intervent and training this continued to be a problem for Zeus. So he was then deemed not rehomable due to being a very high bite risk to humans and previously biting or injuring other animals. At no point has Zeus ever been aggressive to either mother or I, but outside of the rescue environment he is very fear reactive and requires very careful managment which we are now well used to and can ensure that Zeus and others around him are safe. With mother and I, Zeus is like a totally different dog; he loves cuddles and would happily lie on your knee all day.

What does a sponsor mean to Zeus?

A sponsor means extra support financially for the care of longterm dogs such as Zeus. It allows us to provide him with good dry food, but also Raw dog food as this is what he thrives on. It would allow us to continue to cover all his vet costs and supplements throughout his life, with him coming in to his older years likely need to start joint supplements. With sponsorships it also means we have extra cash available for each of the sponsor dogs and can provide them with lots of new toys, treats and anything else we can to make their lives happier.

Lastly, it goes towards any costs for doggy day trips, which allows us to take the longterm sponsor dogs out in to public places or private field hire for a change of scenery and to help with enrichment.

If you would like to sponsor Zeus, please click on the donate button below. Sponsorship is £50 for the year and you will get a certificate of sponsorship. Zeus cannot be visited in person due to his aggression with strangers. Make sure to include your email or postal address so we can get your certificate to you.
